Elimination of the consequences of Russia's massive attack on August 26, 2024
On the morning of August 26, Russia launched more than 100 missiles of various types and about 100 “shahids” at Ukraine. This was one of the largest combined strikes. The consequences of this strike are now being eliminated throughout the country.
This was stated in the address by President Volodymyr Zelensky. “Like most previous Russian strikes, this one is just as vile, aimed at critical, civilian infrastructure. In most of our regions – from Kharkiv and Kyiv to Odessa and our western regions. Unfortunately, there are casualties. My condolences to all relatives and friends. There are dozens of wounded – everyone is receiving the necessary assistance,” he noted.
The President reported that there is currently a lot of damage in the energy sector. But wherever there is a power outage, restoration work is already underway. Our repair crews will work around the clock. “We will return the electricity. In all cities and communities in need, points of invincibility should now open,” Zelensky emphasized.
He stressed that it is very important that our partners implement our agreements – provide Ukraine with air defense systems and missiles for them. And we must also finally come to the joint shooting down of Russian missiles and drones.
