Since the beginning of spring, this direction has been one of the hottest along the entire front line.

Today, the Pokrovsk direction is one of the hottest along the entire front line. The enemy can accumulate forces here, and then attack for several weeks in a row.

Tankmen from the 25th told “Ukrainian Witness” about the situation near Pokrovsk OPGBr.

Since the beginning of spring 2024, it has become very hot here. “The fighting here is very active,” says the tank driver mechanic on the pseudonym “Robik”. “If earlier it was possible to shoot, drive a little away from the enemy and almost not worry, now FPV drones have become very active. They operate on different frequencies”, so going out on missions without EW (electronic warfare equipment) is actually suicide. Therefore, speed is very important here.”

This is exactly why the T-80 tank, which the guys control, has a helicopter engine installed.

“Usually the T-8sh drives very loudly and smoke pours out of it,” says the tank gunner with the call sign “Dnepr”. “With a helicopter engine, none of this happens. In addition, thanks to such an engine, the vehicle can reach speeds of over 80 km/h (while a regular T-80 moves at a speed of 50-70 km/h, depending on the modification and terrain).”

Journalists asked the guys if they would go to Kursk region if they had such an opportunity.

“There will be an order to the vehicle – then forward,” laughs the tank gunner with the call sign “Svat”.
