The Belarusian fighter jet pursued the drone for about 20 minutes, after which, most likely, the “shahed” was shot down.

shooting down a Russian “shahid”, reports the OSINT monitoring project Belarusian Gayun.

According to its information, tonight, August 29, during another attack by the Russian Federation on Ukraine, one of the shaheds again flew into the territory of Belarus in the Yale region. This happened at 03:30.

After the “shahed” event in the airspace of Belarus, the Belarusian Air Force fighter jet chased the violator for about 20 minutes, and at about 03:55 in the Yale district of the Gomel region, at least 2 explosions were heard and a bright flash was observed in the sky.

Thus, this is probably the first recorded case when a Belarusian Air Force fighter jet attempted to destroy a real military target in the sky – a Russian kamikaze drone of the “Shahed” type.

It should be noted that this is not the first time that Russian drones have flown into Belarus, but this is the first time that a Russian air target has been shot down.
