The Supreme Court of Russia upheld the current sentence of four participants in the case of the “Alushta group” ” Hizb ut-Tahrir.

During the hearing, Eldar Kantimirov, Lenur Khalilov, Ruslan Mesutov and Ruslan Nagaev said they wanted to communicate in their native Crimean Tatar language and asked to assign a translator.

However, the court refused this, citing the fact that all four political prisoners “lived in Russia, studied in schools where Russian was taught,” therefore, they have sufficient knowledge of Russian.
As a result, the court did not satisfy any of the defense's arguments and upheld the sentence, and also rejected the appeals against the decision of the appellate court.
