World famous kickboxer Roman Golovatyuk died in the war

The athlete volunteered to serve from the first days of the war.

This was reported by the press service of the Kamyanets-Podilskyi City Council and the Youth and Sports Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

Roman Golovatyuk was considered one of the best athletes in WAKO kickboxing.

“He made a loud statement about himself throughout Ukraine and beyond at the age of 22, when he won a medal at the 10th World Games in Poland in 2017. And after that, he continued his outstanding sports career: OMS from WAKO kickboxing, World Games finalist, world champion, multiple winner of the World and European Cups, multiple champion of Ukraine. A glorious athlete, a true Ukrainian, a warrior and a hero,” the committee noted. The city council added that Roman Golovatyuk made a powerful contribution to the development of Ukrainian sports. Following the call of his heart, Roman left his sports career and volunteered for the war from the first days.

Roman Golovatyuk was born on September 30, 1995 in the village. Krasnostavtsy, Chemerovets district, Khmelnytsky region. In 2012, he entered the Podolsk State Agrarian and Technical University. In 2014, he began training in the kickboxing section.
