ARMA will donate almost 150 paintings by Medvedchuk to the national museum

136 paintings that do not have significant cultural value will be sold through Prozorro.Sales.

The paintings seized by law enforcement officers from the estate of Viktor Viktor Medvedchuk to the national museum, and not constituting significant cultural value, will be sold.

This was reported by the chairperson of ARMA Elena Duma.

“Today ARMA received the conclusions of experts on the seized paintings (within the framework of one court ruling), which belonged to the state traitor Viktor Medvedchuk,” she noted.

Of the 284 paintings seized:

Previously, the National Agency did not have a legislative mechanism that would allow the transfer of seized assets and cultural values ​​to national museums. Thanks to the initiative of the Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Anti-Corruption Policy Anastasia Radina, this legislative mechanism may be created this week.

We are talking about draft law No. 11280-1 on the specifics of managing cultural property and other assets.

< Thus, the arrested works of art will be used in the interests of the state as effectively as possible: valuable exhibits will be preserved for future generations, and the proceeds from the sale of paintings that do not have signs of cultural heritage will be directed to the needs of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
