‚This August in Kyiv was among the twenty driest since 1891

Only 43% of the climatic norm of precipitation fell in the capital.

This was reported by the meteorological station of the Boris Sreznevsky Central Geophysical Observatory.

During the month, four temperature records were recorded in the capital, which occurred between August 25 and 27 August.

August 2024 took third place in the ranking of the warmest. The hottest during the observation period remains August 2010 (24.6 ° C).

The coldest month in the capital was August 14, when the minimum temperature in the morning dropped to +13.4 ° C, and the warmest was August 20, when the maximum temperature in the afternoon reached +35.5 °.

“Precipitation at 37 Nauki Avenue was 24 mm, or 43% of the climatic norm. This August was among the twenty driest since 1891 in the capital,” the report says.

As reported, this summer in Ukraine, 3.5 times more cases of heat and sunstroke were recorded compared to 2023.
