The US Department of Defense is convinced that most of the targets are not achievable for ATACMS.
The US Department of Defense confirms information previously published in the media about that the Russians have moved the vast majority of their aircraft and airfields beyond the range of ATACMS missiles. No more than 10% of objects remain accessible to long-range weapons, which, in the opinion of the Americans, will not solve the problem of the occupiers striking Ukraine with guided air bombs and missiles.
The words of the Pentagon spokeswoman are confirmed by the White House: John Kirby called the assertion that permission to use ATACMS not only in the border zone would help the Armed Forces of Ukraine to secure the front line and rear cities from Russian aviation “false notion”.
Washington again hinted that it would like to see the use of long-range missiles in the south and east of Ukraine, and not on the territory of the Russian Federation, noting the “effectiveness and success” of strikes in Crimea, Zaporozhye, Kherson and Donbass.
