The UK government has announced on its website that it will provide Ukraine with 650 light air defense missiles worth a total of £162 million.
British Defence Secretary John Gilliam will announce the aid package during a meeting of the Ramstein Contact Group on Ukraine on Friday.
The air defense missiles are manufactured by the British company Thales at its plant in Belfast. The LMM model, which will be sent to Ukraine, is valued for its versatility: it can launch interceptors enemy targets can be from land, sea or air.
