The Case of Nikolai Tishchenko

On the afternoon of June 20, in Dnipro, a group of people attacked former Kraken military unit Dmitry Pavlov, who was with his small child. Pavlov made remarks to people in military uniforms without identification marks and in balaclavas, who were in the middle of the city. Unknown people in balaclavas and camouflage attacked him, tried to handcuff him and began to beat him. According to information from social networks, the attackers may be Nikolai Tishchenko's security guards.

Subsequently, two criminal cases were opened in connection with the attack in Dnipro on the former Kraken military unit of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense.

Tishchenko accused the ex-military officer of involvement in so-called call centers.

The Kyiv policeman who participated in the incident in Dnipro with Tishchenko's security guards was fired. The Chairman of the OPU Andriy Yermak commented on the video recording of the conflict between his godfather, MP Tyshchenko and a military man. He said that Tyshchenko's behavior is incompatible with the status of a people's deputy.

On the evening of June 24, Tyshchenko was announced as a suspect under Part 2 of Article 146 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The penalty provides for up to five years of restriction or imprisonment.

On June 25, the Pechersk District Court imposed a preventive measure on Tyshchenko – round-the-clock house arrest for a period of two months. This is the measure requested by the prosecution, and the defense asked to reject the petition.
