“The situation remains extremely difficult, heavy fighting daily – Kurakhovskoye direction, Pokrovskoye. But we are doing our utmost to ensure the resilience of our combat brigades. And separately – the operation in the Kursk region. About 40 thousand Russian troops have already been diverted to this direction. “Our active actions continue,” the head of state said.
The President reported that he held meetings with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky, as well as the heads of the Ministry of Defense, the Foreign Intelligence Service, and the Security Service of Ukraine.
“We are forming the content for detailed, thorough negotiations with partners. And this concerns both Donbass and other areas,” Zelensky noted.
- Recently, Syrsky said in an interview with CNN that the goals of the operation in Kursk were to pull Russian forces from other parts of the front, create a security zone, and prevent shelling of civilian objects across the border. There was also a need to capture more enemies and raise the morale of Ukrainian soldiers and the country as a whole.
