In Lithuania, an entire thermal power plant is being dismantled piece by piece to hand it over to Ukraine. This was stated by the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen at a briefing in Kyiv.

Speaking about support for the Ukrainian energy sector, she said that the EU has provided 2 billion euros. Member states are also providing material support: 10,000 transformers and generators.

“There will be more. Yesterday I announced a support package of almost 160 million euros for repairs and provision of emergency winter equipment,” she said.

Part of this money is frozen Russian assets.

In total, the EU has provided Ukraine with 118 billion euros.
