At dawn on September 26, at about 05:00, Russia carried out an airstrike on the civilian infrastructure of the Yunakivska community of the Sumy district. An elderly woman died.
The Sumy Regional Prosecutor's Office reported this.
As a result of the attack by the aggressor in her own home, a 71-year-old pensioner died.
“Under the procedural guidance of the Sumy District Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation is being conducted into the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with premeditated murder (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine),” the prosecutor's office noted.

Prosecutors, in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies, are documenting the consequences of the shelling.
- On the night of September 26, 2024, the enemy attacked Sumy region with two missiles of an unspecified type, and fired four more missiles at Odessa region.
- An undetonated FAB-800 aerial bomb was found in Sumy after the shelling.
- Air defense shot down 66 “shaheeds” launched by Russia and 4 guided air missiles.
- In the Carpathian region, the enemy damaged a critical infrastructure facility, and the capital was also damaged by shelling.
