In Sumy region, communities are recommended to conduct oral vaccination of wild meat-eating animals against rabies

Currently, the number of red foxes has increased in the Sumy region, which poses a threat to the spread of rabies.

The spread of rabies among animals has increased due to the war, – Kuzin

It is noted that today, due to enemy shelling and the mining of some territories, it is quite difficult to ensure 100% compliance with vaccination measures for wild meat-eating animals. Therefore, I appeal to the members of the State Emergency Anti-Epizootic Commissions in the districts of the Sumy region and ask them to comply with all safety rules when performing certain vaccination measures.

Since the beginning of 2024, 7 cases of rabies have been recorded in Sumy region: in Romensky, Akhtyrsky and Konotopsky districts.
