Chief designer of Russian drones Zala and Lancet has been charged in absentia with aiding in the conduct of war

According to available data, since the beginning of the full-scale war, the defendant's enterprise has manufactured almost 5,000 UAVs.

The Security Service has collected evidence on Alexander Zakharov, the owner and chief designer of the Russian company ZALA Aero Group, which is developing unmanned systems for the war against Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of the SBU.

Today, this company, based in Izhevsk, is one of the largest manufacturers of combat drones for the military formations of the aggressor country.

Among the main models of unmanned aerial vehicles of Zakharov's company are Lancet drones, as well as the latest reconnaissance drones ZALA Z-16 and ZALA Z-20. According to available data, since the beginning of the full-scale war, the defendant's enterprise has manufactured almost 5 thousand UAVs.

Usually, the enemy uses Lancets as kamikaze drones for direct attacks on Ukrainian armored vehicles, and ZALA drones search for potential targets, adjust fire on them, and after defeat, record the consequences of strikes.

Thus, these drones have become an integral part of the Russian military invasion of Ukraine.

Russian Central Bank Chairwoman Nabiullina Suspected of Assisting in Financing War Against Ukraine

Based on the evidence obtained, Security Service investigators notified Zakharov of suspicion under Part 5 of Article 27, Part 2 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 437 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (assistance in waging an aggressive war committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons).

Since the defendant is on Russian territory, comprehensive measures are ongoing to hold him accountable for crimes against our state.
