The Foreign Minister noted that there should be no political obstacles to this.

During a recent visit to Poland, Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga discussed “specific technical, not political steps” to exhume victims of the Volyn tragedy.
The diplomat reported this on Facebook.
“We discussed specific technical, not political, steps to finally resolve the issue of exhumations, which has long poisoned our political dialogue. There should be no political obstacles. It is gratifying to note that there is understanding and a desire to move forward in a constructive manner,” wrote Sybiga.
He noted that the past, no matter how difficult it may be, cannot jeopardize modern counteraction to common challenges and the future in the Euro-Atlantic family. Sybiga is convinced that this is our common understanding with the Polish side.
- Recently, the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed approval of the statement of the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance on the possibility of resuming work on the search and exhumation of victims of the Volyn tragedy, which is a constant stumbling block in relations between the two neighboring states.< /li>
