Slovakia's PM seeks to restore good relations with Russia

Robert Fico is waiting for the war to end so he can quickly establish cooperation with Moscow.

Robert Fico
It's the turn of Slovaks to talk about the government. According to “European Pravda”, the politician admitted that after the end of the war in Ukraine he wants to immediately establish “normal relations” with Moscow.

Fico promises to “do everything for this” if the hostilities cease during his term as prime minister – that is, by 2027.

According to the official, “the European Union needs Russia, and the European Union needs Russia.” At the same time, the politician also wants to build friendly relations with Ukraine.

Fico repeated his long-standing thesis that the situation in Ukraine allegedly “does not have a military solution”, and European politicians are increasingly talking about the need for negotiations – citing statements by Czech President Petr Pavel that Ukraine will probably have to abandon the idea of de-occupying all of its territories.
