Ukraine is committed to the requests made to NATO, – Zelensky

Ukraine’s main focus is immediately on responding to the request to NATO. This is an extremely important deadline for Ukraine, although difficult to achieve.

President Volodymyr Zelensky stated this at a press conference with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, reports a correspondent for RBC-Ukraine.

“As NATO is worried, we are now focused on the fact that Ukraine is asked to join NATO. This is a very important time. It is difficult to achieve and we are focusing on this result,” he said.

Zelensky said that Ukraine can do everything possible to reverse this result and continue to work on its achievements.

Ukraine's accession to NATO

At NATO itself in Washington, as soon as the linden tree appears , Ukraine was tempted to refuse the official request to join the Alliance, but this did not happen.

NATO stated that Ukraine’s accession to the Alliance is an irrevocable process.

As the Vice-Premier said Minister of Nutrition for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Olga Stefanishina, the United States and Germany opposed such a request.

Rutte's visit to Ukraine

Great Prime Minister Dutch Minister Mark Rutte officially greeted the NATO Secretary General. He said that supporting Ukraine is losing his key priority.

Today, June 3, Rutte made his first visit to Ukraine in his new role as NATO Secretary General. Previously, he had already led the country as Prime Minister of the Netherlands. At the hour of Mark Rutte's visit, he met with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
