Media: Head of passenger direction to become new head of Ukrzaliznytsia

Yevgeniy Lyashchenko will likely continue to work in his new position until the end of his contract.

The government publication claims that Yevgeniy Lyashchenko will be replaced as the head of the board of Ukrzaliznytsia by the current head of the passenger transportation department, Oleksandr Pertsovsky. This information is confirmed by Ukrinform's sources in the state-owned company.

The reason for Lyashchenko's resignation is the terms of his contract: it ends in the middle of the financial year, while planning for 2025 needs to begin now. This is precisely why the official “gave up” his position. However, according to the media, he will not leave Ukrzaliznytsia for another six months, having moved to the position of financial director.

According to Forbes, two more board members who also resigned are not leaving the company: Vladimir Krot will continue to work in the field of traffic safety, and Orest Logunov will be in charge of relations with the European Union. As for Oleksandr Pertsovsky, at the helm of the carrier, his task will be to speed up the process of updating the rolling stock and build border railway infrastructure.
