New NATO Secretary General said Trump During a visit to the United Kingdom, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte reassured those expecting Donald Trump to leave the Alliance if he wins the presidential election.

According to The Guardian, Rutte said that he is not worried about the results of the American vote. Both candidates “recognize the value of continued military support for Ukraine.” “They know that Putin will not stop in Ukraine, and we can all be under threat, so the aid will continue,” the Dutchman assured.

According to him, Trump “wants to protect the United States,” and for this he “will need NATO, so as not to end up without allies in a cruel world that is incapable of compromise.”

However, the Secretary General acknowledged that the Republican's complaint about the insufficient financial participation of European countries in the Alliance should be taken into account. Rutte proposes raising the minimum level of budget funds that states must allocate for defense from 2% to 2.5 or even 3%.
