The EU condemned the Israeli attacks against UN peacekeeping forces in Lebanon

The head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, condemned the IDF attacks against UN forces in Lebanon. He called such attacks unpleasant and such that they grossly violate international law.

RBC-Ukraine reports this in a statement published on the website for European sake.

“The EU condemns all attacks against the UN mission. The EU (European bloc – ed.) is particularly concerned about the Israeli Defense Forces' attacks against the UN Temporary Force in Lebanon, which injured many peacekeepers. Such attacks against UN peacekeepers and gross violations of international law and completely unpleasant. These attacks are likely to be carried out without harm,” says the document.

Also, Borrell’s statement on behalf of all countries of the EU says that everything Subjects are required to take the necessary steps to ensure the security of the UN, as well as to ensure that the UN is in place at all times. The head of EU diplomacy said that Israel needs clarification.

“We are emphatic in clarifying the ongoing investigation into the Israeli government's attacks on UNIFIL, which play a fundamental role in the stability of Lebanon. We urgently appeal We can all parties renew their commitment to ensure the safety of UNIFIL personnel at any time and permit UNIFIL will continue to terminate its mandate,” the statement said.

Borrell said that the UN Timber Forces depot near Lebanon includes military personnel from 16 member states of the European Union. In addition, the head of EU diplomacy emphasized the importance of professionalism and confirmed the continued support of the role of UNIFIL.

The document also states that the EU is deeply involved in missile attacks on Israel by Hezbol loy”, as well as IDF strikes on densely populated areas of Lebanon, which will lead to great losses among the civilian population, and threaten to deprive the rich of their homes.

“We urge all parties to strive for international humanitarian law in any circumstances. And again calls for the fire in Lebanon to end completely, as well as for all parties to take responsibility for the new resolution 1701 for the sake of Security,” summed up Borrell.

It’s a good guess that yesterday the Prime Minister page to Israel Benjamin Netanyahu called on the UN to withdraw peacekeepers from the border to Lebanon. In his own brutal way, he said that Hezbollah’s vikorist peacekeeping forces act as a “human shield.”
