President Volodymyr Zelensky reported on Telegram that he held a meeting of the Headquarters of the Commander-in-Chief on the situation at the front, in particular the Pokrovsk direction, as well as the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region.

Zelensky noted that he had heard a report from Commander-in-Chief Alexander Syrsky on the operational situation. “Active actions are currently taking place along the entire length of the front, but especially fierce battles are taking place in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhovsky directions. For the fifth day, the Russians have been trying to break through our defenses in the Kursk region. The guys are holding on and counterattacking,” the president said.

Also during the Headquarters, the head of state conducted an analytical analysis with representatives of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense and the Foreign Intelligence Service regarding who exactly is helping Russia “to wage its war of conquest against Ukraine – militarily, economically, politically, openly and covertly – and what steps we, our partners, need to take to weaken these criminal alliances.”

President Volodymyr Zelensky may present a victory plan to parliament this week.

According to adviser to the head of the President's Office Serhiy Leshchenko, Zelensky will speak in the Verkhovna Rada on October 16. “Obviously, there is only one reason for this event – the public presentation of a victory plan,” he wrote on Telegram.

Ukrainian Ambassador to Germany Oleksiy Makeyev also said that the victory plan will be presented in the coming days.

On October 14, unknown persons reported “mining” of various objects in Ukraine, including the ministry, city councils and educational institutions.

The National Police confirmed information about reports of mining in various regions in a comment to journalists. Such reports are known in the capital, Uzhgorod, Sumy, Poltava, Odessa, Ivano-Frankivsk, Khmelnytsky and other cities.

“The National Police of Ukraine has been dealing with such messages for several years now, and has developed a corresponding response algorithm and such events. It is possible that the enemy is trying to destabilize the situation in the regions of our country in this way, and therefore uses information and psychological special operations for this purpose. The police have enough forces and resources to check each object,” the police reported.

The European Parliament's Trade Committee has approved support for financial assistance to Ukraine in the amount of about 35 billion euros at the expense of frozen Russian assets.

“The Trade Committee voted by 31 votes in favour, 4 against and none abstaining on the Commission's proposal to support Ukraine with an exceptional macro-financial assistance loan of up to €35 billion. This is the EU's contribution to the G7 initiative to support Ukraine by providing around €45 billion to meet Ukraine's urgent financial needs in the face of Russia's brutal war of aggression,” the European Parliament said in a statement.

The statement stresses that payments on this macro-financial loan, like other loans from the G7, will be made from emergency proceeds from the blocked assets of the Russian Central Bank and will be coordinated through the Ukraine Credit Cooperation Mechanism, recently created at the proposal of the European Commission.
