The company will not sue the aggressor for the destruction of the Kakhovka HPP for now.
Kakhovka HPP Ukr on the refusal to file an arbitration claim against Russia due to the destruction of the Kakhovka HPP. The corresponding tender for the provision of legal services, announced on August 15, 2024, has been cancelled.
As the company explained, the decision was made to coordinate actions within the framework of a wider national strategy of Ukraine. The company will consult with the government and other stakeholders on how best to hold the aggressor accountable for the destruction of infrastructure facilities in order to obtain compensation.
Ukrhydroenergo says that it remains “committed to obtaining full compensation” for all damage caused by the war, including not only the Kakhovka HPP, but also more than 140 missile strikes on other assets.”
