The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court lifted the arrest of Mezhyhirya

This is the last step before the state finally acquires ownership of the residence.

Residence “Mezhyhirya”

The Ukrainian office of Transparency International reported on Telegram that the High Anti-Corruption Court lifted the arrest from the house and land plot in the former residence of Viktor Yanukovych “Mezhyhirya”.

According to human rights activists, the decision was made in response to a petition from a representative of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. At the same time, the defense of the fugitive president insisted that the arrest continue until the completion of the consideration of the case on the merits.

Back in 2023, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a law according to which “Mezhyhirya” should return to state ownership and turn into park-monument. Transparency believes that VAKS has taken the final step before the final transfer of the residence to the state not only de facto, but also on paper.
