State Department: US discovers Chinese companies supplying Russia with ready-made drones for the first time

It was previously reported that sanctions were imposed on these companies.

that they themselves produce weapons that they then send to Russia and which the Kremlin uses on the battlefield against Ukraine.

This was stated at a briefing by US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller.

It was previously reported that sanctions were imposed on two such Chinese firms – due to “involvement in the development and production of a Russian unmanned aerial vehicle “Long-Range Harpy”. The sanctions list also includes the Russian company Trading House Vector and its CEO.

“This was the first time – and we imposed sanctions on a number of these companies. This was the first time that we actually saw a Chinese company itself producing weapons that Russia then used on the battlefield, sent to Russia, and then used on the battlefield. And that’s why we imposed sanctions,” the official said.

Miller emphasized that Washington had previously observed China producing dual-use goods that the Russians used to make weapons.

“For a period of time, Chinese companies supplied components to Russian companies, which then used Russian companies to make cars, weapons, and other components that Russia could use in its war,” he noted.
