61 prosecutors in Khmelnytsky region have disabilities, – Kostin

The Prosecutor General noted that 80% of the 50 people received disabilities even before the start of Russia's full-scale invasion.

A large-scale service a of all prosecutorial bodies – at all levels, including the Office of the Prosecutor General.

This was reported by Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin in the “Fakty Nedeli” program, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

“To date, it has been established that 61 prosecutors of the Khmelnytskyi regional prosecutor's office have disabilities. These are the Khmelnytskyi regional prosecutor's office and district prosecutor's offices of the Khmelnytskyi region. Meanwhile, 80% of them – 50 people – received disabilities by the beginning of the full-scale invasion,” the prosecutor general said.

According to Kostin, it is very important to establish under what circumstances they received disability, because the share of such employees in the Khmelnytsky region is very high. He also promised to inform the public about all stages and results of this check.

“I believe that all prosecutors who are in doubt should voluntarily undergo a re-examination. So far, this has not been done within the framework of criminal proceedings. I also initiated the creation of a working group, which will include international experts. They will help to comprehensively assess the situation and develop a solution to make such abuses impossible in the future,” Kostin noted.

He also expressed support for the Health Ministry's initiative regarding a comprehensive reform of the medical and social expertise system.

“We are ready to join this initiative. It may be necessary to involve the entire government, as well as parliament. It is very important to ensure fairness, in particular, in establishing payments that people receive in connection with disability – regardless of where this person works, and whether he works at all,” Kostin said.

“The number of men who became disabled during the introduction of martial law is truly impressive,” the Prosecutor General added.
