SBU exposes seven dealers of Russian “trophy” weapons in four regions of Ukraine

The perpetrators are in custody. They face up to 7 years in prison.

The Security Service and the National Police prevented the illegal sale of captured weapons and ammunition in four regions of Ukraine.

This was reported by the press service of the SBU.

“During complex events in Dnipro, as well as in Zakarpattia, Ternopil and Zhytomyr regions, 7 underground arms dealers were detained.

In the Zakarpattia region, a 50-year-old resident of Beregovo was detained red-handed, trying to illegally sell automatic weapons, combat grenades and a large batch of TNT. The offender hid all of this in an underground cache, which he arranged in the forest near his private home.

In the Zhytomyr region, three residents of Korosten, who had previously been prosecuted for theft, were exposed for illegal arms trade.

According to the SBU, the detainees were notified of suspicion under Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives).

The perpetrators are in custody. They face up to 7 years prisons.
