Orban equates the European Union with the USSR

The Hungarian prime minister wants his people to “resist Brussels.”

Viktor Orban

During the celebration of the anniversary of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution, he considers the European Union to be similar to the USSR.

According to Deutsche Welle, the pro-Russian politician called on Hungarian citizens to “resist Brussels in the same way that the uprising resisted Moscow.”

Orban once again criticized the EU's position on the war in Ukraine, claiming that the bloc is “pulling the West into a hopeless confrontation” and “experienced dizzy with the hope of victory.”

Without providing any evidence, the head of government also said that the EU allegedly wants to deploy Ukrainian troops on Hungarian territory after the victory and painted a picture of how “the Hungarians will wake up one morning to see that Slavic soldiers have immediately re-entered their land.”
