Ukraine and India consider cooperation in defense industry

The relevant ministry says that at this stage it is important to study the capabilities and needs of the defense industries of both countries.

Ravi Shankar and Santo Minister for Strategic Industries German Smetanin held a working meeting with Ambassador of the Republic of India Ravi Shankar and Naval Attaché Santosh Belliappa. This was reported by the Ministry of Strategic Industries.

During the meeting, they discussed the prospects of Ukrainian-Indian cooperation in the defense industry. The Minister noted that India is a strategic partner for Ukraine.

“Ukraine is open to expanding the geography of partnerships in the defense industry, we are ready to consider various forms of cooperation. At this stage, it is important to study the capabilities and needs of the defense industries of both our countries, determine the issues and the course along which we will move,” said German Smetanin.

The Ambassador thanked the Minister for his efforts.

“I welcome the proposal to expand cooperation in the defense industry and assure the Minister of the Embassy's support in identifying specific proposals,” said Ravi Shankar.
