The updated CAP was adopted in 2022 at the Madrid Summit. And in July 2023, during the Vilnius Summit, Allies agreed to transform the CAP into a multi-year program of NATO support to Ukraine in accordance with short-, medium- and long-term needs.

At the Washington Summit, Allies announced commitments for long-term security assistance to Ukraine and plan to provide funding at the level of €40 billion over the next year.
