Hungary denies NATO issue included in Ukraine deal

The bilateral document will allegedly not contain any mention of membership in the Alliance.

The spokesman for the Hungarian Foreign Ministry added the NATO membership question to the text of the bilateral agreement that Kyiv and Budapest are preparing to sign.

According to “European Pravda”, the representative said that during the negotiations the Hungarian side “made it clear that Ukraine's intention to join NATO cannot be part of this document.” The Foreign Ministry says that “the position on this issue was expressed a long time ago, and there have been no changes in it.”

We are talking about the conviction of the government of Viktor Orban that Ukraine's accession to the Alliance would allegedly entail “the beginning of World War III.”
