Zelensky accused partners of “watching and not acting”

In his address, the President pointed to the missed opportunity to preemptively strike North Korean troops.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in an address the text of which was published on the website of the official online representative of the head of state, criticized democratic countries for their passive position regarding the threat from North Korea.

According to him, “the world is simply watching” When the DPRK tests a ballistic nuclear missile, makes better artillery and learns modern warfare. Ukrainians will have to defend themselves from thousands soldiers who are already near the border, “and the world will be watching again.”

Zelensky also reproached America, Britain and Germany that “instead of the much-needed long-range capability” that would allow them to strike preemptively at sites where soldiers from the DPRK are accumulating, the partners “are simply waiting for the North Korean military to strike Ukrainians.”

“We must act. Words about the inadmissibility of escalation and expansion of the war must coincide with actions,” the President summed up, addressing his partners.
