Marvelous rules. How to rob the President in the USA

The electoral system in the United States is expanding compared to most other countries. The President is being robbed in two stages.

RBC-Ukraine explains what the specifics of elections in the United States are and why it is necessary to lose respect.

The rules for which Americans rob the head of the power, even specific. In contrast to most other countries, elections take place in two stages.

Voting in the skin area is required. But formally, Americans vote not personally for Kamala Harris or Donald Trump, but for the so-called “electors” – special party delegates. And then the electors will vote for the preferred candidate.

In the current United States, the role of election officials has become formal. But in practice, this system means that you actually go through elections in every state.

How many candidates are needed to win

To win the presidential elections, you will need to get votes from 270 out of 538 voters. Their number in each specific state varies depending on the size of the population. California has the most electors – 54. And in such small populous states as Vermont, Wyoming, Pivnichna and Pivdenna Dakota, their number is minimal – 3 electors each.

The majority of the state This is the principle of “overcoming I will take away everything.” There are no more blames for Nebraska and Men. In order to take away all the electors from the state, the candidate only needs to take away more votes from one opponent.

In practice, this means that a person can become President of the United States, for which a minority of Americans throughout the entire region voted. Such outbursts, literally, have occurred several times in the current history of the United States – in the elections of 2000 and 2016 (if I can succeed in this way, especially Trump).

What are the “tricks” of the state

Most states have consistently supported both Republicans and Democrats for well over a decade. For example, California has been considered democratic since the 90s, although this state previously voted for Republicans. And for the record, Texas previously favored Democrats, but now votes heavily for Republicans. In such states there is no particular sense in campaigning, and it is important to change the large number of voters.

At the same time, there is a low number of states in which the support of Democrats and Republicans is approximately Rivna, so the chances of cheating voters on one side or the other. Such states are called “swing states”. There is a lot of slaughter in the elections, because the voters can change their position through a lot of officials: a change in the state's population through migration, and the rise of new sectors of the economy.

In the 2024 elections, the key states are rocking: Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Georgia, Nevada, Northern Carolina and Arizona. Each of them has ratings of the two main candidates of equal importance, the difference being significantly less than a statistical loss. In practice, this means that both Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, during the campaign, will dedicate respect and advertising budgets to the very states that share the state.

The state of Pennsylvania with 19 electoral votes has the most potential for candidates. Further, Michigan and Georgia – 16 each, Northern Carolina – 15, Arizona – 11, Wisconsin 10 and Nevada – 6.

It seems that RBC-Ukraine previously wrote how bookmakers are accepting bets on the US elections.
