A representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Georgiy Tykhyi, commented on The Times publication that Ukraine could create a nuclear bomb.
“Ukraine adheres to the NPT (Non-Proliferation Treaty – ed.); we do not possess, do not develop and do not intend to create nuclear weapons,” he wrote.
Tikhiy emphasized that Ukraine closely cooperates with the IAEA and is completely transparent for its monitoring. And this, in turn, excludes the use of nuclear materials for military purposes.
Earlier, The Times published an article stating that if Donald Trump stops US military aid, Ukraine could develop a basic nuclear bomb using plutonium within a few months.
