In Lviv region, a law enforcement officer is suspected of illegally transporting men across the border

State Bureau of Investigation employees suspect a law enforcement officer from Ukraine

It is known that the suspect was looking for people among his acquaintances who wanted to leave Ukraine and drove them to the border with Romania in his own car.

“In October, he tried to transport residents of the Lviv and Zakarpattia regions to Europe. He picked up one of them in Lviv, and then picked up three more “clients” in Stryi and Vinogradov,” the report says.

The law enforcement officer took the men to the border zone in the Beregovsky district of Zakarpattia, after which he gave them an electronic map with the route so that they could cross the border with Romania on foot. All four people were detained by border guards.

The price for such a “logistics service” fluctuated around 5 thousand euros. The defendant managed to take more than 20 thousand euros from the violators.

He was informed of suspicion of illegal transportation of persons across the state border (Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 9 years.
