GUR: Due to losses at the front, Russia has a shortage of junior officers

The personnel crisis of the command staff of the Russian occupation army is worsening.

losses at the front, the Russian Federation has a shortage of junior officers. Therefore, the occupiers are going to cope with the problem by creating military training centers on the basis of schools.

This was reported by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense.

“Russia's large-scale losses at the front among junior officers are forcing Russia to make further attempts to expand the scope of their training,” the intelligence service notes.

According to the Main Intelligence Directorate, the Russians began to establish a mechanism for training and uninterrupted supply of junior officers for the war against Ukraine, the Kremlin began in the first year of the full-scale invasion.

“The aggressor state is creating military training centers on the basis of civilian higher educational institutions, where they should conduct basic training for platoon commanders, artillery batteries and deputy company commanders,” the report says.

The Russian Federation plans to launch 33 new military training centers by the end of 2024 in addition to almost a hundred existing ones. The intelligence adds that the junior officer of the enemy army performs, first of all, the function of driving the infantry to the assault directly on the battlefield, which explains the high level of losses and, as a result, the acute shortage of lieutenants in Russia.

“The next activation of the leaders in Moscow to trick even more fresh lieutenants indicates that the personnel crisis of the command staff of the Russian occupation army is deepening,” the intelligence emphasizes.
