This was reported by the acting mayor Artem Kobzar.
“There is a lot of damage to a residential apartment building, many are injured. They landed in the center of the courtyard. All the houses around are windowless. Now the State Emergency Service and police are evacuating the victims,” Kobzar said in a video message.
Earlier, he reported that a residential building was hit as a result of the missile attack.
President Volodymyr Zelensky also responded to the strike.
“A missile strike on a nine-story building in Sumy. All necessary services are already on site, a rescue operation is underway. At the moment, we know of dead and wounded, including children. My condolences to the families and loved ones. The criminal must be punished for the murder of innocent people,” he wrote on social networks and published a video.

At least 10 multi-story buildings and vehicles were damaged, the number of which is being clarified,” the report says.
Prosecutors, in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies, are documenting the consequences of the shelling.
