Council upholds military personnel's right to discharge due to death of half-sibling

Today, November 20, the Verkhovna Rada supported the right of military personnel to be dismissed from service due to the death of a half-brother or sister.

The law was supported by 308 deputies, MP Iryna Gerashchenko reported.

Thus, the Council generally supported the amendments to Article 26 of the Law “On Military Duty and Military Service” on the restoration of the right of military personnel to be discharged from military service during martial law due to the death or disappearance of their half-brother or sister (bill No. 11531).

We note that today the Council also supported the provision of a deferment from mobilization for those whose close relatives died in the war.
