Lithuania will see an additional 10 million euros for the renovation of Ukraine

Lithuania directly contributes 10 million euros to the Light Bank Trust Fund, created for new, renovation, reconstruction that reform of Ukraine. These funds will be used for the renovation of damaged energy infrastructure, residential buildings, schools, medicine and other financial institutions.

RBC-Ukraine reports about this Sent to the press service of the Ministry of Finance of Lithuania.

Lithuanian Finance Minister Gintare Skaiste said that Vilnius will continue to support Ukraine in the minds of the trivial war.

“Since the war between Russia and Ukraine has been going on for 1000 days, Lithuania continues to provide intensive financial, humanitarian and military assistance. This fund allows us to effectively promote modernization important infrastructure and services, including lighting, health care and living standards,” said Skaiste.

This is another contribution from Lithuania to this fund: earlier in 2022, Vilnius having seen 5 million euro.

The Light Bank Foundation, creations at the beginning of 2022, united 17 donor countries, who collected a maximum of 2 billion euros.

At the beginning of the war, Lithuania donated assistance to Ukraine in the amount of over 1.5 billion euros, including military, financial and humanitarian support. The transfer of new funds to the fund will be in the coming days after the completion of the necessary legal procedures.

Assistance to Ukraine from Lithuania

Lithuania is actively assisting Ukraine in the military sphere. Serpna Vilnius voted for the transfer of a new package of military assistance, which includes short-range air defense systems, armored personnel carriers and anti-drone capabilities.

Prime Minister of Lithuania Ingrida Simonyte also reported that by the end of autumn, Ukraine will withdraw from Lithuania about 5 thousand drones.

In addition, Lithuania plans to provide additional aid to Ukraine in the amount of 40–50 million euros by the end 2024 roku. As of today, Vilnius has already given Kiev assistance by 153 million euros.
