Vice-Premier denies opening of air traffic in Ukraine

The security situation still does not allow this to be done.

Despite active rumors about the possible return of civil aviation to work in Ukraine as early as January next year, the Cabinet of Ministers does not yet see any reason to resume air traffic.

According to Ukrinform, this statement was made by Vice Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine – Minister for the Development of Communities and Territories Oleksiy Kuleba.

The official confirmed that the level of readiness of the institutes for the return of aircraft to the skies of Ukraine reaches 95%. It takes 45 days to open an airport in Lviv or Kyiv.

But this is becoming an obstacle to a dangerous situation. Kuleba is convinced that the current capabilities of the air defense forces are not enough to guarantee the main condition for the opening of air traffic – the safety of passengers. So it is too early to talk about this.
