Reuters: Trump's special envoy on Russia-Ukraine war will be an opponent of Ukraine's accession to NATO

Richard Grenell previously served as ambassador to Germany and headed the US intelligence service.

According to Reuters, US President-elect Donald Trump will create the position of special envoy for the settlement of the Russia-Ukraine war in his administration and appoint Richard Grenell as it.

The 58-year-old Republican already has similar experience: in 2019-2021, he was the envoy for negotiations between Kosovo and Serbia. In parallel, he managed to become the United States Ambassador to Germany and head the national intelligence service for several months. Before Mark Rubio's appointment, he was considered one of the main contenders for the post of Secretary of State.

This summer, Grenell stated that the means of ending the war in Ukraine was the creation of “autonomous zones”, and also insisted that our country should not be accepted into NATO in the near future.
