Greenpeace rebukes IAEA for inaction Greenpeace has released a statement criticizing the actions of the International Atomic Energy Agency in Ukraine.

According to Ukrinform, environmentalists do not understand why the IAEA is not properly carrying out the promised inspection of electrical substations on which the operation of the nuclear power plant depends. The facilities that became the target of Russian missiles and drones were under inspectors have been monitoring the situation for only six days in the last three months.

A Greenpeace analysis in October found that grid instability caused by the shelling left Ukraine's nuclear power plants “vulnerable to a catastrophic accident.”

“The IAEA is fully aware of these risks, but has so far decided not to act. And every day and every minute counts,” the Greens complain.

The Energy Ministry said Ukraine needs the IAEA to continue its mission to critical substations.
