The parties agreed to be in close contact with European leaders regarding steps that should put Ukraine in the strongest possible position in the face of developments.
“I stressed that for this Ukraine needs an invitation to NATO and further build-up of long-range capabilities,” the president said in a conversation with Starmer.
In addition, the parties discussed Ukraine’s possible participation in the Joint Expeditionary Force summit next month in Tallinn, where it is invited by Estonia. This year, Ukraine became the only country to participate as an observer in the JEF Joint Protector 2024 exercises. “We are interested in deepening cooperation with this association,” Zelensky noted.
They also agreed to speed up the preparation of an agreement on a 100-year partnership between Ukraine and the UK.
