Man arrested in North Macedonia who wanted to fight against Ukraine as part of the Russian army

The police of North Macedonia have arrested for the first time a Macedonian citizen who wanted to join the Russian army and fight against Ukraine.

This was reported by European Pravda with reference to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of North Macedonia.

Wanting to rejoin the unit, the suspect flew to Moscow in October.

During interrogation upon his return to Skopje, the man admitted that he had to “sign a contract to serve in the Russian army and would be taken to a training camp where he would be prepared to participate in military operations in Ukraine.”

The man is charged with “participation in foreign army, police, paramilitary or parapolice formation”, if proven guilty, he faces at least three years in prison.
