Police suspect man of setting fire to transformer substations in Kharkiv

The man managed to damage three transformer substations in the Saltovsky district.

Police officers have reported a suspicion to a man who set fire to transformer substations in Kharkiv.

This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kharkiv region.

“An 18-year-old guy met a man in one of the messengers who offered him a “part-time job” for setting fire to objects power industry. The attacker used bottles with a flammable mixture to set fire to metal cabinets that are designed to protect electricity distribution and metering devices,” the report says.

It is noted that the man managed to damage three transformer substations in the Saltovsky district. He sent a video of the fires to the customer.

Law enforcement officers are checking the man for involvement in cooperation with Russian special services.

Law enforcement officers opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 194-1 (intentional damage to electric power facilities) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine; the man faces up to 10 years in prison.
