​A 12-year-old boy was injured by an explosion of an unknown object in the Kharkiv region

The device that the child picked up from the ground exploded in his hand.

This was reported by the press service of the regional military administration.

“After 2 p.m. in the village of Kachalovka, Bogodukhovsky district, a child was injured by an explosion of an unknown explosive object,” the report says.

According to the OVA, the 12-year-old boy received debris injuries, hospitalized in a medical facility. The device that the child picked up from the ground exploded in his hand.

According to the State Emergency Service, as of December 2023, 277 people have died in Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale war due to mines or other explosive devices. In addition, 608 people were injured, including 74 children.

Recall that since the beginning of the year, more than 1,000 civilians have exploded on silent mines. Of these, 333 people have died and 750 have been injured.
