The General Staff confirmed the night attack on the oil depot near the Bryansk region, and

At the beginning of the 11th year, the Forces of the unmanned systems of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (ZSU) and The Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) launched a successful strike on a petroleum depot near the Bryansk region of the Russian Federation (RF).

RBC-Ukraine reports this via a post on the Facebook page of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (ZSU).

It appears that the attack was launched against the Bryansk oil depot, a loading point for the Druzhba oil pipeline. Its function is to receive, save, distribute, and also extract diesel fuel to tank trucks and transport vehicles. At the same time, the oil supply base is actively being used to support the occupation army of the enemy.

“Following the obvious information, there are further fires in the petroleum depot. A massive fire has begun. The results of the combat operation are being clarified,” the General Staff adds.

Attacks on Russian refineries

Under the hour of full-scale war, Ukraine has had a low success rate of attacks on oil refineries (refineries) and other critical infrastructure in Russia. Such strikes serve a strategic purpose: to reduce the production of the enemy and to support your military machine, while protecting the supply of ammunition for military equipment.

Such operations can also have a psychological and diplomatic effect, supporting Russia's sovereignty in its territory.

For example, as reported by RBC-Ukraine, on the 8th of November, as part of the power steering operation, a petroleum refinery plant near Saratov was damaged.
