Attack on Yemen: two US Navy pilots were killed by a heavy cruiser

For a week, two US Navy pilots were shot down over the Sea of Red. The incident became the legacy of a “friendly fire.”

RBC-Ukraine reported this in a statement to the Associated Press.

The two pilots were found alive after the ejection from the downed aircraft. One of the pilots escaped with minor injuries.

However, the battle is intensified by how unsafe the Red Sea corridor has become through trivial attacks on shipping from the side of the Iran-backed Houthis. Moreover, this was not the case when the area was patrolled by American and European military coalitions.

It is reported that at the same time as the incident, the American military carried out airstrikes on the Yemeni Houthi rebels. However, the US Central Command did not specify where their mission was located.

AP also means that the command learned of the entry of the aircraft carrier Truman into the Close Retreat, from which the pilots flew – less than 15 breasts. Ale did not specify that the ship and its military group were in the Red Sea. About the attack of the flight, it was said at the upcoming rank.

“The missile cruiser USS Gettysburg, which was about to enter the strike group of the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman, militarily fired at the Vinishchuvach F/A-18 and hit him,” they said in Central command.

According to the description of the military, the downed aircraft were a two-winged F/A-18 Super Hornet, attributed to the “Red Shepherds” of the 11th Strike Vinyl Squadron from the Naval Air Base Oceana, State Virginia.

ZMI writes that it immediately became clear that Gettysburg could mistake the F/A-18 for a hostile aircraft or a missile, especially since the ships in the combat group are associated with both radar and radio communication. Central Command said that military ships and aircraft previously shot down a number of Houthi drones and an anti-ship missile launched by the rebels. Previously, enemy fire was on the side of the Houthis, giving the sailors just a few seconds to praise the decision.

AP also reported that from the moment the aircraft carrier Turman arrived, the United States intensified its airstrikes against the Houthis, and in addition, rocket attacks on the Red Sea and adjacent territories. However, the presence of an American group of military ships could provoke renewed attacks from the rebel side, as happened with the destroyer USS Dwight D. Eisenhower of the past. This outburst marked what the Navy described as the most intense fighting during the Other World War.

We guess that yesterday evening in the capital Yemenu city of Sana Vibukha grimaced. The attack was canceled a few years after the Houthis launched an attack on Tel Aviv in Israel.

However, a few years later, the Central Command of the Russian Armed Forces learned that there had been damage to Yemeni – all the hands on the right.
