In 2024, National Police officers seized more than 4.7 thousand firearms from illegal circulation.

This was reported by the head of the National Police Ivan Vyhovsky.

More than 16,000 grenades, 747 grenade launchers, more than three tons of explosives and almost two million rounds of ammunition were also found during the year.

Last year, police officers began pre-trial investigations into more than 5,000 criminal cases involving illegal circulation of firearms and ammunition.

Vigovsky recalled that 2,780 units of illegal weapons were registered based on citizens' requests.
