Over 10 years, Canada has trained 43 thousand Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers

Canada has trained almost 43,000 Ukrainian military personnel in 10 years.

This was announced by Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrsky after a meeting with Chief of Defence Staff of the Canadian Armed Forces General Jenny Carignan.

Syrsky spoke about the situation at the front, familiarised himself with the current security situation in Ukraine and the needs of the Armed Forces for weapons and military equipment.

“We discussed in detail the enhancement of our air and missile defense capabilities, taking into account the enemy's missile and air strikes on critical infrastructure facilities, key defense industry facilities and the housing sector of Ukraine in the context of achieving an advantage over the enemy and expanding air defense capabilities,” he noted.

Syrsky emphasized that the Ukrainian Armed Forces highly appreciate Canada's contributions to the Coalition's activities to develop unmanned systems, air forces, armored vehicles and information technology.

He thanked the Canadian Armed Forces UNIFIER military training mission, General Jenny Carignan, the Government of Canada and the Canadian people for their consistent support of Ukraine, as well as for the unique military assistance provided to the Ukrainian Defense Forces, in particular, conducting professional training for Ukrainian F-16 pilots in Canada and providing language training for flight and technical personnel. Earlier, Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov met with Jenny Carignan. During the meeting, they discussed cooperation in the area of ​​supply and production of weapons.
